Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then located numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state early analysis indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.
City officials said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important representative stated the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
